The 35-foot flagpole, complete with nautical yard arm and a United States Flag, is a gift from Wheeler Yacht Club to the park and the State of Alabama.
Our National Flag will fly proudly from this special location overlooking the waters and facilities of the park. It will continuously be a reminder of the special freedoms we enjoy and the sacrifice of generations that have ensured our freedom.
The Flagpole Dedication Ceremony is the culmination of an important project for WYC that was spearheaded by last year's Commodore Bob Lee and made possible through the generous support of the membership at large.We can all take a great deal of pride in what has been accomplished.
